Gadget Friday: Shaken, Not Stirred

For this special “Fiesta Friday” edition of Gadget Friday (since tomorrow is both Cinco de Mayo and Derby Day), we’re serving up a Mint Tea Julep, using a shaker cup and a Hawthorne strainer.

(Scroll below the video for links to the tools we recommend.)

Here’s what we recommend:

Cocktail Shaker (available at Sur La Table)

Shaking up a chilled drink is a breeze with this brushed stainless steel cocktail shaker. It has a double-walled construction and a cap to use when shaking your beverage.

(Here’s a link to a few other shaker options.)

Hawthorne Strainer (available at Sur La Table)

This handy stainless steel strainer fits perfectly on top of your metal shaker cup to make serving easy. The coiled-spring securely grips the rim, while the small holes keep muddled ingredients and large ice chunks from ending up in your drink.
