Homemade Grenadine

You’re probably familiar with this syrup that is used to flavor various drinks (including the Shirley Temple), but did you know that it was traditionally made from pomegranates? So we decided to make it ourselves with Pomegranate Panache. It works great … you can even use it to make your own cherry cola! ~ Marlys

Homemade Grenadine

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Water
  • 3 tsp Pomegranate Panache loose tea
  • 1 cup Sugar

Instructions

  1. Brew Pomegranate Panache tea (using a tea filter or infuser) for 5 minutes.

  2. Heat tea and sugar to a boil. Boil for 4 minutes.

  3. Use this mixture just like you would any grenadine syrup to make drinks of your choice.

  4. To make your own cherry cola, simply add 5-6 tablespoons of grenadine per cup of cola.
